Only 84 schools participated across the US, and Trenton Central High School was one of them. The students will take the exam again with the new changes. The plan is for this test to be released publicly across the nation next school year and for students to receive a certificate in basic technical theatre endorsed by two national organizations. The Association for Career and Technology asked Ms. Brown to write an article for their online magazine Techniques. You can read the article here
This award is given annually by the Career & Technical Education Association of New Jersey to a teacher who has taught a CTE program for three to five years. Ms. Brown has now been nominated into the Region I level which will be decided in April. Being that the national event is in December Ms. Brown is considered the winner for 2022.

At TCHS, we are excited about it and look forward to taking on the month in various ways. Coming from AATE and EdTA, each week has an advocacy and celebration focus. Week 1--Spirit Week Week 2--School or Company Week 3--Community Week 4-- Officials This Friday is Show Shirt Day! Wear a shirt from a show you did or a show you like. Post the photos online. AATE has a contest for schools who have photos, and we are submitting for Twisted Tales of Poe. Follow the 31 Days of Facts and watch the five champion videos via @TIOS_Month on Twitter or Instagram. Tag them in posts. Make sure to use #TIOS21 or #theatreinourschools March 27th is World Theatre Day, established by the International Theatre Institute. Though it is not a school day, the students will be reading/listening to the message sent out by this year's theatre honoree. Past speakers include Edward Albee (1993), Arthur Miller (1963), Wole Soyinka (1986), John Malkovich (2012), Augusto Boal (2009), Vaclav Havel (1994), Judi Dench (2010), and Peter Brook (1969 & 1988). For the last week of February, we have a number of events happening for the students during Tornado Time. Starting with a session on Theatre Business with Tamar Greene (George Washington from Broadway's Hamilton) and Jose Solivan (Broadway Touring Company Manager for The Lion King, The Color Purple, Hairspray, and more). A showing of Sleep Deprivation Chamber by Adrienne Kennedy and Adam Kennedy Thursday 1:10 Adrienne Kennedy Festival wrap up with Paula Alekson (from McCarter Theatre) and Nicole Watson (director of He Brought Her Heart Back in a Box) Thursday, January 28th at 1:15PM, the Saturday program hosted by Princeton University's Trenton Arts at Princeton: Trenton Youth Theater will be hosting a panel and Q&A for anyone interested in finding out more about the program. Students do not need to be a part of the CTE theatre program to join the Saturday program. This session and the Saturday program are open to any student from TNGA or any Trenton Public High School (TCHS, Daylight, TRA). The Princeton University leaders of the program, TCHS theatre teacher Ms. Felicia Latoya Brown, and some students who were a part of the first semester of Trenton Youth Theater will be there to answer questions.
